Gooey-Center Chocolate Chip Cookies (12 Cookies)
Ingredients
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- ½ cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ⅓ cups + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks
- Flaky sea salt (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Cream butter and both sugars until fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until combined.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
- Fold in the chocolate chips/chunks.
- Chill dough for at least 1 hour (or overnight for deeper flavor).
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Scoop dough into 12 balls, about 3 tbsp each (golf ball-sized, ~55–60g). Place 2–3 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden but centers look slightly underbaked.
- Optional: Sprinkle with flaky sea salt while warm.
- Cool 5 minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a rack. Enjoy warm and gooey!
